I began the Roller Transfer Print series in the early 1990s. For this process, I used original color photographs that were converted into inkjet prints. I would soak a piece of watercolor paper in a paint thinner solvent and then place the inkjet print face-down onto this saturated watercolor paper. I then would apply pressure by rubbing continuously for several minutes before carefully lifting away the inkjet print. In the best case scenario, the color image transferred properly leaving an altered image with a pastel quality to it; realistically a minimum of five attempts usually would yield only one decent print. Due to the toxic nature of the chemicals used and the fumes, I discontinued this series in 1999. A few prints, however, are still available.
